Cheek Enhancement

Creating structure, youthful curves & definition

Enhancing the cheeks with dermal filler can offer a number of different anti-ageing benefits, as well as being great for achieving facial balance and contouring.

Cheeks are an important facial feature, with the shape of this area being determined by bone structure and the amount of fat present. As we age the structure of our faces changes, not only the quality of our skin, but also the skull, muscles and fat, which are the underlying support.

Replacing or adding lost volume in the cheeks using dermal filler can help to rejuvenate the face by giving back the natural youthful curves provided by fuller cheeks. This treatment can often give lift to the entire face, helping to reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds and jowls.

A cheek enhancement can also help add contour to the cheekbones, giving the face a defined and sculpted appearance as well as the illusion of a slimmer face.

Results from this treatment last between 6-18 months, with clients often seeing longer lasting results from repeated treatments.

FAQs

How much filler will I need?

The standard amount of dermal filler used for this treatment is a maximum of 2ml (1ml each side).
Your technician will administer the best amount of filler to achieve a noticeable but natural looking result.
Depending on personal anatomy repeat treatments may be necessary to achieve your desired results.

Is it painul?

We take the utmost care to make the procedure as pain-free as possible, using the smallest nano-needles available and a blunt cannula (depending on the treatment area).
As well as applying a numbing cream before treatment, we use dermal fillers containing lidocaine, which also helps to numb the area further during the procedure.

How can I reduce the risk of bruising and swelling?

Swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising are all normal after this treatment and can differ individually.
Swelling is normally at its worst the evening of and morning after your treatment, but should ease within a few days. However, the healing process can take up to 2 weeks for swelling and bruising to fully subside.
If you wish to reduce the possibility of and ease swelling we advise patients to start taking antihistamines, and arnica tablets to lower the risk of bruising in the lead up to their appointment.
