Precise, Safe & Effective Skin Lesion Removal
Cryotherapy, also known as CryoPen treatment, is a safe and effective method for removing a range of common skin lesions.
Using a highly targeted jet of nitrous oxide, the CryoPen freezes and destroys unwanted tissue with precision - leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. This quick, non-invasive treatment is ideal for clients who want a straightforward solution to skin tags, age spots, warts, and other benign lesions. For mole removal, a Map My Mole consultation is required prior to treatment to ensure the mole is suitable and safe for removal.
Cryotherapy is an effective solution for:
Skin tags
Age Spots & Sun spots
Cherry Angiomas (red spots)
Seborrhoeic Keratoses
Warts & Verrucas
Benign Skin Lesions
Certain types of Moles
(following Map My Mole consultation)

CryoPen works by delivering an intense cold directly into the lesion. The freezing process destroys the targeted tissue while leaving healthy skin intact. This treatment offers:
Precise targeting of unwanted lesions
Skin cell renewal and regeneration
Minimal discomfort with no need for cutting or stitches
Quick treatment times - usually just minutes per lesion
Little to no downtime, allowing you to resume normal activities straight away

The treatment can be carried out on the face or body, making it a versatile option for clients looking to remove lesions that may be irritating, uncomfortable, or cosmetically concerning. Each treatment is tailored to your individual needs, with clear aftercare advice provided to support the healing process. Most clients see results after a single session, although more stubborn or raised lesions may require a second appointment.

FAQs
What is CryoPen treatment?
CryoPen is a form of cryotherapy that uses a highly targeted jet of nitrous oxide to freeze and destroy unwanted skin lesions. It offers a quick, safe and precise solution for concerns such as skin tags, age spots, cherry angiomas, warts, seborrhoeic keratoses and certain moles (following a Map My Mole consultation).
Is Cryotherapy safe?
Yes. Cryotherapy has been used in dermatology for many years.
CryoPen technology makes the procedure even safer by treating only the lesion and leaving the surrounding skin unharmed.
A full consultation is always carried out beforehand to confirm suitability.
Does CryoPen treatment hurt?
Most clients find CryoPen treatment fairly pain-free.
The area may feel cold, prickly or sting for a few seconds while the lesion is frozen, but the discomfort subsides quickly. Some mild sensitivity may be felt afterwards, similar to a minor graze.
What happens after Cryotherapy?
Immediately after treatment, the area may appear red, slightly blistered or darker in colour.
A small blister or scab may form within a few days, which will naturally fall away within 1–2 weeks. It’s important not to pick or scratch the area to reduce the risk of scarring or infection.
Full healing typically takes 2–3 weeks, depending on the size and location of the lesion. Once healed, apply SPF to protect the skin and reduce the risk of pigmentation changes.
How many sessions of Cryotherapy will I need?
Many lesions are successfully treated in just one session.
However, thicker or more stubborn lesions may require a follow-up treatment, which will be discussed at your consultation.
Can moles be removed with CryoPen?
Some benign moles can be safely treated with CryoPen, but only after a thorough Map My Mole consultation. During this consultation, the mole is assessed using professional mapping and dermoscopic analysis to ensure it is harmless and suitable for removal. This step is essential to rule out any suspicious or atypical moles that could require medical investigation. Any mole that shows unusual features or is not suitable for Cryotherapy will be referred to a medical professional for further assessment, ensuring your safety is always prioritised.
Are there any risks or side effects?
Side effects are uncommon but may include temporary redness, swelling, blistering, scabbing, or pigment changes (lightening or darkening of the skin). These usually improve as the area heals.
Following aftercare advice will reduce the chance of complications.
